e-Monitoring Networks Teams with Stevens Water Monitoring to Provide Remote Stream Level and Flow Monitoring for Pacific Gas & Electric

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - November 10, 2002

e-Monitoring Networks, Inc. ("e-Monitoring") announced today that it has teamed with Stevens Water Monitoring ("Stevens") of Beaverton Oregon to provide an end-to-end "real-time" remote stream level monitoring solution for Pacific Gas & Electric ("PG&E").

The streams being monitored are in a remote area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stream level and flow-rate data are used for day-to-day monitoring of snow pack and rain runoff. The stream levels are measured by Stevens manufactured sensors and RTUs and data gathered at the remote locations is collected by means of a low-earth orbit satellite data network. Raw data from the remote sites is forwarded by the satellite network to e-Monitoring's Gateway Center where the data is processed, formatted and stored in a large database. The stream level and flow rate data is then accessed, displayed and plotted using a secure web site available to authorized users at PG&E.

"Typically many parties have gathered stream data by spending hundreds of staff hours physically going to the stream locations on a weekly or monthly basis. Now through the combination of Stevens' sensors, the satellite network and e-Monitoring's Gateway and web-based application software, we can provide a complete end-to-end data gathering and reporting system that saves time and money and also provides data in real-time." said Ed Schmidt, President of e-Monitoring Networks.

New stream locations can be added to the system as water level monitoring equipment and satellite modems are installed. Once service is activated, the network and web application software can be easily scaled to handle thousands of locations and millions of data points.

About e-Monitoring Networks - e-Monitoring Networks is a leading provider of end-to-end solutions to the environmental monitoring and petroleum distribution industries. These solutions provide worry free monitoring and asset management -- all through wireless technology and the Internet. e-Monitoring electronically collects data (including video images) and/or location information from remote sites, mobile assets and vehicles and then formats that data as useful information using application software available to users via the Internet. The data is then accessed through secure web-based application software running at the company's Gateway Center.

The web-based application software is a customer configured application program that allows the incoming data to be sorted, formatted and displayed in a fashion most useful to the customer. Through this secure web site, customers will also be able to send polling and other commands to the site, adjust alarm conditions and change the automatic reporting schedule.

With applications ranging from water level monitoring, storage tank monitoring and leak detection to mobile asset tracking, e-Monitoring Networks helps its customers by reducing costs, increasing productivity and improving customer service.
